EXPORT FEEDS

Our Export Feeds feature provides the option to save the subscription details of multiple feeds in a standard file format suitable for importing into newsreader applications.

Multiple feeds from our directory are exportable on a category basis. The first step is to select a category by clicking it, for example, "Clinical Specialty".

Above the listing of subheadings, there is a hyperlink to Export Feeds in this category as OPML. If you click this, a new window will open containing a lot of XML code.

Not all newsreaders/aggregators have an import facility. For those that do, you may find it labelled with the acronym OPML. In the case above, the feature is located under the File menu, and is titled Load Feeds From OPML.

When choosing the file you previously saved, be conscious that the file extension was XML and that your newsreader/aggregator may have OPML as the default type selected. If this is the case, select XML from the Files of type drop-down to have the window list your saved file. Select the file you want to import and click OK to proceed.

Some newsreaders/aggregators employ a folder structure to display feeds. In the case above, the imported feeds appear in a "Imported Feeds" folder and the category subheadings are also given their own folders.

You can export feeds at a subheading level, if for example you were only interested in Cancer feeds.
