20th Annual Course in Paediatric Gastroenterology

Summary: This annual course, now in its 20th year, is directed at both trainees and established consultant paediatric gastroenterologists, as well as general paediatricians who have an interest and those who refer children for endoscopic procedures. The course provides an annual update of advances in gastroenterology, at clinical and research levels. We attempt to provide a bridge between recent advances in the basic sciences as applied to clinical practice, and to bring a pragmatic approach to patient interaction.

This year’s course will include the following topics:-
Serological testing and diagnostic guidelines in coeliac disease, diagnosis and treatment of reflux disease, constipation, abdominal pain, pre- & pro-biotics, infective hepatitis, obesity and liver disease, IgE mediated food allergy, innate immunity, food safety, bacterial drug delivery, IBD, stem cell therapy and “Meet the Expert” group sessions with the course speakers. Speakers include Riccardo Troncone, Hania Szajewska, Annamaria Staiano, Charles Knowles, Marc Benninga, Simon Carding, Frank Ruemmele, Ilma Korponay-Szabo, George du Toit, Gad Frankel, Etienne Sokal, Bart Koop, Mike Thomson, Eric Hassal, Nikhil Thapar, Rob Heuschkel, Dan Turner, and Franco Torrente.
