09 February 2010 - Latest Cochrane reviews relevant to emergency and urgent care
Issue 1 2010 - 14 new, 3 updated and 0 withdrawn Cochrane reviews relevant to emergency and urgent care published January 2010.
08 February 2010 - Topic tree updated
'Safe-guarding' has been added as a topic under 'Organisational and other issues' and with the sub topics of 'Adult' and 'Children'. Items previously in 'child protection' have been moved.
02 February 2010 - New 'in process' DARE records
20 'in process' DARE records relevant to emergency and urgent care were added to DARE in December 2009. As we reported in October 2009, we are now checking DARE 'in process' records for a trial period with the aim to identify more systematic reviews of relevance to emergency and urgent care. Please let us know via our 'contact us' form if you find this useful. During the trial period we will provide a list of relevant reviews each month, but we will not be adding a record for each review into the collection. Please note that the systematic reviews described in these records have not been appraised for quality.
02 February 2010 - New full DARE abstracts of systematic reviews
15 full DARE abstracts relevant to emergency and urgent care were added to DARE in December 2009.
01 February 2010 - Guidelines for the management of community acquired pneumonia in adults
New guidance from the British Thoracic Society, published in October 2009, replacing earlier guidance of 2001 and 2004.

19 January 2010 - New editorial panel

19 January 2010 - Updated syncope guideline
Guidelines on diagnosis, management and treatment of syncope - recent guideline from the European Society of Cardiology, published in 2009.
15 January 2010 - Spotting the sick child
A new interactive tool commissioned by the Department of Health to support health professionals in the assessment of the acutely sick child.
15 January 2010 - Paramedic Practice mailing list
This mailing list available via JISCMAIL was launched in August 2009 and is for Library and Information Professionals who support or have responsibility for programmes in the area of paramedic practice and paramedic science.
