NHS Evidence - gastroenterology and liver diseases
- all of the evidence you need in one place

NHS Evidence - gastroenterology and liver diseases, a Specialist Collection of NHS Evidence, aims to provide access to the best available evidence within gastroenterology and liver diseases to NHS healthcare professionals. It is not intended to replace databases like PubMed, which provide access to journal articles.  Although targeted at health professionals; patients, carers and the general public will find useful information on the site, and we have produced a patient's guide to help you.

For each of the left-hand subject headings, resources are sorted into these categories:

  • Guidance & pathways - for clinical and service guidelines
  • Evidence - for Cochrane Reviews, DARE abstracts and other evidence-based research
  • References - for specialist websites, organisations, news items and NLH annual evidence updates
  • Education/CPD - for learning materials and online courseware
  • Patient Information - for patient orientated leaflets and support groups.

UK DUETs

DUETsThe UK Database of Uncertainties about the Effects of Treatments (UK DUETs) has been established to publish uncertainties that cannot currently be answered, by referring to reliable up-to-date systematic reviews of existing research evidence. NHS Evidence - gastroenterology and liver diseases is helping to build UK DUETs by identifying uncertainties from the literature in our topic. The current list of uncertainties identified in gastroenterology and liver disease can be found here.
